The understanding of wet gas flow phenomena is of major importance to the natural gas production industry. Much knowledge has been gathered with regards to wet gas flow measurement. DP meters are the most common devices used. Their generic response to wet gas is well studied but much is still not fully known: e.g. what is the effect of liquid properties on wet gas measurement devices!?
Generic Crude Oil Expansion Coefficients - How Much Are They Costing You? - Norman Glen, TUV NEL
Measure volumetric flow rate of oil in shared pipeline systems. Density, and therefore volume, of hydrocarbons is a function of temperature and pressure. Need to know effects of temperature and pressure on volume of oil. Measure density of oil at process conditions. Use generic crude oil expansion coefficients (volume correction factors) to correct fluid densities to other conditions
